Taking responsibility since 1875

Quality is sustainable – we’re convinced of that.
But that alone is not enough for us: We want to be even more sustainable. To that end, we’re always evolving and constantly reviewing our materials, supply chains, partners and the standards we set.
That’s because our tradition demands we look after the future.

OUR LABEL

Sustainability is a never-ending journey. But every step counts. In order to inform our customers about the distance we’ve already traveled and what’s important to us, we’ve introduced a new label to our range.
SCHIESSER SUSTAINABLE sums up the standards and requirements we currently set for our products. The label distinguishes products that…

➨ … consist of at least 70 % sustainable materials

➨ and were produced in certified facilities that have committed to complying with Corporate Social Responsibility standards (CSR for short)

Around two thirds of our products already qualify for the label. You’ll start seeing the label on relevant products from the 2023 spring/summer collection.
You can read more about the measures we’re already implementing here.

OUR MEASURES

Many aspects of sustainability and corporate responsibility have long been firmly anchored in our company philosophy. These include the use of high-quality materials, careful manufacturing, intelligent cycles and processes that save resources.
The following measures already form part of the work we do every day:

➔ Our new „SCHIESSER SUSTAINABLE“ label ensures more transparency for our customers.

➔ We’re increasingly counting on certificates – for our processes, for our partners and for ourselves. For example, we were recently certified in accordance with Made in Green, a combination of Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and Oeko-Tex STeP.

➔ Our hangers in the B2B sector form part of a recycling loop and are used again and again or recycled to make new hangers. That saves resources.

➔ We use recyclable packaging.

➔ Photovoltaic systems on company premises generate environmentally friendly electricity.

➔ We reduce our emissions – by using climate-neutral shipping from DHL GO Green, for example.

We’re convinced that high-quality products can only be produced when we work together in trusting, fair, cooperative relationships. That’s why we select our partners and production sites very carefully. The majority of our products are manufactured in our full-service PLEAS facility in the Czech Republic. We knit, dye and package large sections of our collections there; this lets us take full ownership of the entire value chain for our products.
It also allows us to reduce shipping distances, facilitate greater coordination between everyone involved and increase transparency in our production processes. For garments „Made in Europe“.

Certificates

Certificates set universal standards, create transparency and provide security – for everyone involved. That’s why we encourage our partners to get certified, and why we set the same high standards for ourselves, too.

Our certificates

We’re already committed to high CSR standards via our parent company, Delta Galil. Among other organizations, Delta Galil is a member of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), which was also involved in the creation of the Higg Index. What’s more, Delta Galil is part of such initiatives as the Fair Factories Clearinghouse (FFC), the Fair Labor Association (FLA) and the International Labor Organization (ILO).

Here at SCHIESSER, we’re certified in accordance with the well-known Oeko-Tex Standard 100, which guarantees our textiles are free from harmful substances, and Oeko-Tex STeP, which ensures sustainable production conditions. Our new Oeko-Tex Made In Green certification ensures even more transparency, as the requirements of both Standard 100 and the STeP certification are prerequisites for the label and allow supply chains to be traced back with even greater clarity. Made In Green also requires that 85% of materials (excluding metal parts) come from CSR-certified facilities. Every company that’s involved in more than five percent of the finished product has to be certified, too.

Certificates from our partners

We also accept the following labels and audits from our suppliers and partners as they all meet the high standards we demand:

Amfori BSCI

SEDEX/SMETA
SA8000® and ISO 45001 from TÜV SÜD
