Nicki

Nicki is the overall name for loop plush, a velvety, soft knitted fabric that often has a fine sheen effect.  The fabric, named after the Milan textile manufacturer Nicky Chini, has been a popular material for cuddly products since the fifties, especially in the children’s and baby sector.

Oeko-Tex Standard

Oeko-Tex Standard is a globally recognized, unified testing system for textiles.  Labels such as the well-known “Confidence in textiles” show end customers since 1992 that they are purchasing a tested garment that can touch their skin without any negative effects. Especially in the sensible underwear sector, Oeko-Tex Standard is therefore an important identification for products that are tested for harmful substances.  At SCHIESSER, all the products comply with the Oeko-Tex Standard 100.

Whether natural or synthetic fibers, garments for adults or children, with SCHIESSER you can always rest assured that nothing but the best, rigorously tested underwear touches your Skin!

Paisley

Paisley is the name for a decorative, oriental looking pattern with a palm leaf-like basic shape.  The name for the pattern originates from the Scottish city of Paisley, which used to be a major textile processing hub in the 19th century. Originating from India, Paisley became a distinguished fashion trend, supported particularly by Queen Victoria.  Even nowadays, the ornament exudes a noble character that embellishes textiles across a variety of areas.

SCHIESSER uses Paisley mostly on the classic day- and nightwear, thus combining a stylish design with the best material in a unique way.

Pima Cotton

Pima cotton is a particularly fine, even type of cotton.  Originating from South America, this type of cotton that is nowadays grown mainly in California, where the even finer “Supima” fiber originates as well.
SCHIESSER uses Pima cotton mainly for the 95/5 line.  This special cotton gives basics made of high-quality single jersey a unique, soft feel and a noble look.  Supima cotton is found mostly in the exclusive Revival sector, where it lends double rib products, among other things, an exceptionally noble character.

Piping

A piping is a narrow, thick ribbon used for defining and serging of edgings, hems or pocket openings.  This is done by folding a strip of cloth lengthwise, then placing a string inside its layers and sewing it, which creates a voluminous Body.
SCHIESSER uses a piping mostly on the collar edging so that t-shirts, for example, get a clean and at the same time extraordinary neck closure.

Piqué

Piqué is a dense, durable fabric whose surface is characterized by a relief-like structure.  This fabric is especially easy-care and absorbent and thus often used for frequently worn casual clothes such as the polo shirt.
SCHIESSER uses Piqué mainly in the nightwear sector, where it lends pajamas, to name an example, a sporty-elegant character.  However, due to its absorbing capacity, the fabric is also very suitable for bathrobes.  The special waffle piqué weave turns a simple bathrobe into a grand, noble companion when you wear it after a relaxing bath or while having a cup of aromatic coffee in the morning.

Polyamide

Polyamide is a highly resistant, soft synthetic fiber with a silk-like character.  Its softness makes it ideal for the underwear production as it gently caresses the skin.
S
CHIESSER uses different polyamide fibers for day- and nightwear, whereas the material is not used for sportswear.  Special polyamide types like Tactel or Meryl® Nexten have different advantages that are being used on large scale including lingerie, for example, or for details like lace and straps/Ribbons.

Polyester

Polyester is a synthetic fiber characterized by its shape retention and easy-care properties.  Textiles with polyester content crease very little and dry quickly.
With regard to these positive characteristics, SCHIESSER uses polyester mainly in the sports sector.  Nevertheless, the fiber can also give plushy products some stability or give nightwear a cozy feel.

Polypropylene

Polypropylene is a functional synthetic fiber that plays an important role in the entire SCHIESSER sports sector.  The extremely fast transport of moisture wicks away water and moisture perfectly and can either absorb moisture in 100% polypropylene quality, or alternatively transport moisture away from the body in the semi-functional dual-layer system with Micromodal in the outer layer.

Poplin

Poplin is a fine, dense fabric with a soft drape and strong durability and thus very popular in the clothing sector. SCHIESSER uses poplin in the production of both day- and nightwear where, for instance, 100% fine cotton is used to make high-quality boxer briefs, pajamas or lounge pants.
